All-on-4 is the latest in implant technology, providing the perfect solution for the problem of missing teeth. The introduction of bone osseointegration and the implant concept in the 1960s opened a new era of the dental industry—general and prosthodontics dentistry. Dental implants use a titanium piece that is placed in the jawbone, replacing the root of a missing tooth. A missing tooth or a full set of teeth can be fully restored using this method.
Previously, dentures were the only solution for edentulous patients who were in need of restorations. Patients complained of slurred speech, food stuck under their dentures, bulkiness, and so on. Dentures only recover 50–60 percent of chewing ability, thus reducing the enjoyment of eating.
The introduction of implants has revolutionised teeth restoration and overcome past disadvantages. With implants, new teeth are customised for a perfect fit, and almost all chewing ability is recovered.
Nobel Biocare, the world-leading implant manufacturer in Sweden, has developed the ‘All-on-4’ technique—placing four implants into the jawbone, minimising bone grafting and sinus augmentation. Later, multi-unit abutments can be placed as a bridge to support prosthetic teeth, including 12 teeth on each jaw.

Benefits of this method
1. Saving cost with only four implants placed into each jaw, restoring a full set of teeth.
2. Eliminating complex surgery such as bone grafting or sinus augmentation.
3. Immediate results and well-established outcomes in clinical studies.
4. The procedure only takes one day and patients can go back home with new teeth.
